Although we all recognize that the stations in the NAC-OSCE are artificial, simulated scenarios, treating them as such will not enhance your performance in the exam. As challenging as it is, aim to treat the stations as if they are real. This means, being yourself. Don't be artificial. Don't be robotic. Don't try to be something that you are not.
One of the objectives of the NAC-OSCE is for the examiners' to get a sense of who you truly are and to capture how you communicate with your patients in clinical practice.
So, let your wonderful, knowledgeable, compassionate, authentic self (with a checklist) shine through your interactions. When you are yourself, your interactions will flow more naturally, they'll be more conversational and you'll build a really genuine rapport with your patient. Further, you'll feel more relaxed and more present in the moment.
To sum up, try to treat the stations as if they are real and be yourself to improve your NAC-OSCE exam performance.
