It is always an unpleasant shock to get results that we hadn't anticipated especially if we felt the outcome would be better given all our efforts. Remember, taking the NAC-OSCE is a remarkable achievement in and of itself. You did your absolute best to excel in a most challenging exam - and that is what matters.
However, whether you failed the exam or you are disappointed with your score, now is the time, as hard as it is, to resist the urge to agonize over your results. Instead, use this misstep to refocus your energy on exploring other options or taking the NAC-OSCE again.
You can take the NAC-OSCE a maximum of three times overall, regardless of whether you passed or failed the exam. Only your most recent results on the exam will be the valid result and will not expire. It is also important to take note that since 2018, the exam cannot be taken in consecutive sessions, meaning that you must wait a full year before you are eligible to take the exam again. Please visit Medical Council of Canada's Applicability and Eligibility page for furtherdetails.
Before you try again, I invite you to to self-reflect, to be honest with yourself. Do you feel you did enough to prepare for the exam? Could you have done more?
We all become experts in our respective fields by making mistakes and learning from them. In your next attempt at the NAC-OSCE exam, make a plan, start early, and try out other studying techniques and supports.
Keep going! Your next attempt will result in a better outcome.
