Firstly, I want to acknowledge that study partners aren't for everyone. Many people study best on their own. However, more often than not a good study partner can enhance your success in the MCCQE1 and NAC-OSCE Exams.
So, what makes for a good study partner? Here are a few suggestions on what to look for when selecting a study partner:
1. Ideally, a good study partner is someone who has a similar learning style and matches or balances your academic level.
2. Your study partner should share your study ethic and exam goals.
3. They should be able to set their competitiveness aside and support you in mutually achieving your targets.
4. They should have a positive, motivating outlook and influence on you.
5. Your study partner should be reliable, punctual, and prepared for your scheduled study session.
6. They can meet with you regularly online or in-person.
7. They should genuinely challenge you. More importantly, they should give you honest, constructive feedback and share their thoughts on what you do well and suggestions on where you need to improve.
8. Lastly, your study partner should be fun. You should enjoy spending time with your study partner and look forward to getting together with them.
